Join a magical evening fatbike tour in Levi and hunt the Northern Lights in the heart of Finnish Lapland. This guided Aurora e-fatbike safari takes you into the untouched Arctic wilderness, far from artificial lights, offering an ideal chance to see the Aurora Borealis in a peaceful natural setting.

Your adventure begins with pickup from Levi and a short transfer to the starting point at the edge of the forest. Your guide will help you with bike and helmet fitting and give riding and safety instructions. Once ready, you’ll set off on your electric fatbike into the night. After the ride, you’ll return to the same point and be transferred back to Levi village. Optional return transport from the halfway break point is available (extra charge applies).

Ride through Arctic wilderness and Kätkä Fell foothills

The 15–20 km route leads through snow-covered forests, frozen marshes, and open landscapes around Kätkätunturi — one of Levi’s most scenic nature areas, protected for its quiet beauty and wildlife. Reindeer sightings are possible along the way.

Halfway through the tour, you’ll stop at a remote clearing with an open view of the northern sky. Here, your guide will serve a hot drink and snack by the fire while sharing myths and stories about the Northern Lights. The location is free of light pollution and offers the best possible setting for spotting the Aurora — if the weather and solar activity are favorable. While sightings are never guaranteed, the experience itself is unforgettable.

Different weather, different magic

Clear skies and visible auroras are of course spectacular — but don’t worry if the conditions aren’t perfect. Snowfall, mist, or even wind create their own unique Arctic atmosphere. Each ride offers a special perspective of Lapland’s wilderness under the night sky, making every outing a memorable one.

You’ll ride a Finnish-made Helkama FE12 electric fatbike, equipped with a high-capacity 708Wh battery — designed for long distances and Arctic terrain. Personal headlamps are included for safety and visibility.
